Train stop at Queensbridge Station

Christmas is a time for visiting families and in the world of Dickens the same is true. The little train that makes the run to London Town has stopped for the night at Queensbridge. The passengers will spend the night before continuing their journey tomorrow.

A Look Around Queensbridge

Miss Abigail Morgan, wearing her new red Christmas coat has decided to get a bit of exercise before dinner at the Horse and Hounds Pub. As anature lover Abby is heading down the old stone stairs toward the forest edge and hoping to see some woodland creatures.

The Timbers Hotel

The passengers will be spending the night at the only hotel in town, the Timbers. The hotel, built from the pines of the nearby forest offer rooms with fireplaces and goosedown quilts to keep you warn throughout the night. The Hendersons and their two children have checked in and can be seen heading to the pub for dinner. John Wilkin, who works at the Timbers has the task of shoveling the snow from the walkway, a never ending task at this time of year.

Dinner at the Pub

A fine meal for the weary travelers may be had at the Horse and Hounds Pub. House specialties include Fish and Chips and the ever popular bangers and mash. The tavern keeper, Harold, is taking a break and enjoying a cup of ale before starting work.

A Pipe before Dinner

Robert Marley Junior and his business associate Thomas Hopkins are enjoying a pipe of good colonial tobacco while discussing their profits from the past year while Shamus McGregor plays seasonal music on the bagpipes.

Taking an Evening Stroll

The Henry Brantly and his wife Ellen are the last of the passengers to disembark from the train. Henry is taking his wife home to visit her parents for the Holiday. For now, they enjoying a stroll before dinner.

The Emerald Express

The only locomotive that runs this stretch of track in the Emerald Express. This new locomotive races along the rails at speeds reaching 43 mph, far faster than horse and carriage. After arriving at Queesnbridge the Express is standing down for the night. The staff at the station will be up early to prepare the train for the final leg of its run to London.

Bedded down for the Night

Just past the station retaining wall and on the forest edge several raptors can be seen settling in for the night. A great grey owl has claimed a dead tree on the far left and a red tailed hawk is returning to the old pine near the stairs.

The Simple Things

While many of the passengers on the Emerald Express have made big plans for the Holidays Nancy Hornblower and her two children hae a much simpler dream for the Holidays. Her husband is a staff officer on one of Her Majesty's ship and Nancy and her children are just hoping his ship will make it safely home. The children have not seen their father for nearly 2 years while he has been at sea.
